Turtle Fur Good Dog Bandana Review

Turtle Fur Good Dog Bandana

We were recently contacted by Turtle Fur to give them some feedback on their new pet product, the Good Dog Bandana neck gaiter for dogs. We put it to use on not just one dog but two!

What Is It?

The Good Dog Bandana is a high visibility neck gaiter for your dog. Like a tube, it simply slides over your dog’s head and can be worn under or over a collar. The gaiter is made from Turtle Fur’s proprietary neon Comfort Shell – a super-soft, lightweight fleece blend that adds a bit of warmth in the winter and is UPF 50+ to block many harmful sun rays. It has 4-way stretch and weighs just a few ounces.

You can even dunk the Good Dog Bandana in water to add some evaporative cooling on warm days!

What Do We Dig?

Undoubtedly, my favorite feature of the Good Dog Bandana is the high vis orange. It really helps my black lab stand out, even in heavy cover. I also like the light, soft feel. Cheyenne never scratches or rubs at it when she’s wearing it. Granted she’s pretty used to testing gear but if I hold the bandana out, she’ll come to stick her head in it. It doesn’t restrict her movement at all and can be worn under or over a collar, no problem.

Our other tester summed it up pretty well:

I just like how simple and versatile it is…

The Specs

  • Size Large – 9.75″ (width) x 8.625″ (length). 4.4 oz.
  • Size Small – 9.25″ (width) x 8.5″ (length). 2.7 oz.

To give you a real-world example, Cheyenne (the black lab above) has a 23″ neck and is wearing a size large.

The Good Dog Banada is machine washable to keep it looking good as new.

Maybe Not for You If…

While I definitely dig the Good Dog Bandana, I would not recommend it to someone who wants visibility in the dark. Without reflective elements, I think there are more appropriate collar, LED, and vest options for nighttime use.

Final Thoughts

At just $14.99 I find the Good Dog Bandana to be a no-brainer. It adds some warmth in the cold and can help keep snow out of the neck fur, with water it can add some evaporative cooling on warm days, it will provide visibility when you need it, and cleans easily. What’s not to like?
